Es können auf einer Leitung Maximal 512 Kanäle gleichzeitig angesprochen werden. Es arbeitet mit einer Datenrate von 250kbit/s. Alle Kanäle bekommen mit jedem Datenpaket eine passende Information. Damit lässt sich über DMX präzise und schnell Licht steuern.<br /> <br /> Das [[LCN]] Konzept ist hervorragend für das Gebäudemanagement geeignet, weniger für ein Theatersteuerung. Hauslichter etc. werden noch häufig über andere Systeme angeschlossen sind ([[LCN]] / [[EIB]] / [[0-10V]]).<br /> <br /> Es gibt z.Z keine Möglichkeit LCN-Signale für DMX Geräte zu verwenden (was auch kaum sinnvoll ist), aber man kann ein LCN-Modul als ein DMX Gerät ansprechen und somit z.B. das Saallicht eines Theaters mit in die Computergesteuerte Bühnenbeleuchtung integrieren.<br /> <br /> Die Firma Soundlight in Hannover hat ein DMX --&gt; LCN Interface hergestellt (SLCN8108), das 8 Tasten simuliert und die Kommandos KURZ - LANG - LOS senden kann.
